Wow.

Let me just be in awe for a second.

The amount of applications we reviewed this month was incredibly many. It was more than double May's! I guess summer time means more Minecraft for you guys. But hey, it's the best time to enhance and polish your building skills right?

Tomorrow, the first wave of acceptance letters will be sent out, along with the team list acceptances (if you weren't accepted onto the server you could still be on the team).

Just follow the instructions clearly and there should be no problem you will see us in a few days! August 1st will be the day we welcome our new freshmen, so check your inbox for the IP address at 10 a.m. in the morning.

We will give you a tour around the headquarters as well as the royal hall where you get a spot to build your avatar. It will be your first challenge, so be prepared! You only get 20 minutes.

Then we'll take you to the commissary facility for you to choose a uniform. Once you become a Major we will send you the skin. Yes, you will still have your original face; we'll just put on your uniform for you.

People who are not ranked major or up cannot be in uniforms, so change your skin NOW if you happen to be in one.

It will take approximately 2 hours to complete freshman orientation, so if you have to leave please inform one of the Major Generals. If you cannot make the orientation, there will be another orientation on the first saturday of the month (August 3rd).

Thanks and we look forward to seeing your killer building skills.

Major General,
Hugh

Long time no update...

My Fellow Lieutenants,

Sorry for not posting an update for so long. I am so lazy and bad at this!! Just to let you guys know that the server is still up and going and we are still building. I've updated the site a little bit so you guys can browse around and check some of the new information out. I threw some info on how our application process works and some other jazz.

I encourage you guys to apply NOW! Next week is acceptance week, but it's not too late!
Talk you to guys soon ;]

Major General,
Hugh

Wow, time really flies by when you procrastinate to post something. Anyways, we wanted to wish the academy members a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, even though Christmas happened 2 weeks ago, woops! To everyone's big surprise, our server upgraded to 1.0! The week before Christmas Eve, everyone became very excited because our Academy Headquarters started snowing. As you can see from the screenshots below, we quickly built a simple roof so that snow wouldn't fill up the interior. Even though we were a little late, we managed to get it done in time so that snow didn't ruin everything.
Later on, of course, we decided to build a better looking roof that actually blended well with the building design. After all, it is our one and only headquarter, we didn't want to sloppily build and pretend to forget about it.
As more and more people join the academy, dorms are steadily filling up. Team members on the server work hard and put in effort on projects to maintain a healthy community. I am very proud to have a group of talented builders in the academy and I hope everyone will have a great 2012! Enjoy the sunset :)

Hey guys! Just wanted to give you guys an update on what we're doing. I would like to do at least one of these posts every week to let the teammates know what we're up to. So first of all, we're still working on the headquarters, mostly the roof and the inside furnishings. We're trying different kinds of roofs to see which one fits the best (even though at the end we might just go with a normal flat roof). The furnishing process is going fairly slow as builders get tired of putting the same layout over and over again. As you can see from the picture, people are starting to experiment on jets and planes for battle use. As far as the overall process goes, we're moving at a steady rate, so that's a good thing. All 11 members on the server would like to give a big welcome to the new members that have just been accepted this week and we hope to see you guys show off your builds!

What do you think members of the Royal Academy of Builders should be called? What would be a fun and relative name to our formal one? Post your suggestions and comments down below!

Sincere greetings to all the ladies and gentlemen, builders and explorers of Minecraft. If you have decided to join the academy, welcome! In this blog post, I will be discussing some topics related to the academy and some questions you may have. Also, in later posts, I will go into further detail about the academy and how YOU, as a fellow Minecrafter, can contribute to this community.

Okay...first of all, if you haven't, go sign up for the academy! Obviously, applications are in the applications tab. Currently, there are 2 applications open. Application 1 is to get on the Royal Academy of Builders' server, and the other is to join the academy. Well, what's the difference between these two? Let's just say this, not all people can get on the server. In fact, it's pretty hard because we have limited slots and 11 are already filled. You would want to fill out the second application if you want to join the academy but not necessarily to get on the server. Of course, you could fill out both to increase your chance, but the main thing I would suggest is to apply for the Academy only. This way you have almost 100% guarantee to join the team and start sharing. Yes, we do filter out some people if the applications are very clumsy, but we see right away if you're interested or not.

And there you go, some basic things to get started. I will be updating this site with blog posts and pictures on the progress of the Academy of Builders' Server. Why are you waiting for? Apply to join the community and check out the benefits of joining in the "Applications" tab!
